Code of Conduct for Interactions with Juniors

The Northwest Arkansas Kennel Club (NWAKC) is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all members, including our valued junior participants. This Code of Conduct outlines expectations for interactions with minors to ensure their well-being, protection, and positive experience with the club.

  1. Respect and Inclusion
  • Treat all juniors with respect, dignity, and courtesy.
  • Encourage participation, growth, and learning in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Avoid favoritism, inappropriate teasing, or exclusionary behavior.
  1. Appropriate Boundaries
  • Maintain professional and appropriate physical and verbal boundaries at all times.
  • Refrain from any behavior that could be interpreted as inappropriate, including unwanted physical contact, suggestive comments, or personal questions unrelated to club activities.
  • Never be alone one-on-one with a junior in a private setting (e.g. closed room, vehicle).
  1. Supervision and Safety
  • Ensure that juniors are supervised during all NWAKC-sponsored activities.
  • Report any injuries, accidents, or behavioral concerns to the child's parent/guardian and a club officer promptly.
  • Do not administer medications or medical treatment unless properly authorized.
  1. Digital Communication
  • Communicate with juniors only through parent-approved channels. Avoid direct private messaging or calls unless necessary and with parental knowledge.
  • Refrain from sharing or posting photos or videos of juniors online without written parental consent.
  1. Reporting Concerns
  • Immediately report any suspected abuse, harassment, or misconduct involving a junior to a club officer and appropriate authorities as required by law.
  • All reports will be handled confidentially and respectfully.

By participating in NWAKC activities, all members, volunteers, and guests agree to uphold this Code of Conduct.
Violations may result in removal from events, suspension, or termination of membership.
